‘Killusion (2005)’ Press

After examining the basic codes of theatre in Exsimplicity, we reckoned it was time to explore the mechanics of theatrical make-believe and imagination. Killusion was a game of relentless role-playing, props transforming from ping-pong balls into telephones or precious pearls, human relations at the same time blurred and revealed in childlike fantasies of cowboys and Indians, horny dwarfs and bizarre surgeries. The cast featured theatre maker Manah De Pauw and actor Bob Stoop, who would become part of the company for a while. One critic wrote that the show demonstrated “the inexhaustible power of theatre to bring imagination to life.” No need to say we were head-over-heels.
